facts on marina barrage

the marina barrage or could be known as marina reservoir is built across the marina channel..

it is a reclaimed lands of south and east marina and was oficcilay opened 1 november 2008.

the marina barrage was coferred the superior achievment award. the $226 million project turns

marina bay and kallang basin into a new downtown freshwater marina reservoir. it provides

water supply , flood control and a new lifestyles attraction. this structurewill provide flood

control by changing the tide flow into the barrage.

share with us how important water conservation is in singapore

the water in singapore is very precious because it is limited .. we lose thousands tons of water a day due to work,electric etc..so having a water consevation is very good to save water and will always enough water for us..

here are some ways on haow we can help save the water

1) Avoid leakage of water from the taps.
2) Turn the tap off when not in use especially when you brush your teeth or wash clothes.
3) Rainwater harvesting is another method to conserve water.
4) The water supply should be limited in those areas which enjoys the unlimited water supplies.
5) Check the leakage of water in the toilets. Also get check the hidden water leaks.
6) Educate the mind of the people in the rural areas to save the water.
7) Promote the conservation of water through media and wall posters.
8) Never throw the water unnecessary on roads which can be used for gardening and cleaning.
9) Avoid unnecessary flushing the toilets. Dispose off the tissues, cigarettes and other waste into
10) the bin instead of toilets.
11)Use minimum amount of water to bath.
12) Water Waste restrictions.
13) Improvement in the water distribution system.
14) Water your lawn only when it is needed.
15) Use a broom instead of hose to clean the sidewalks or to wash the car.
16) Capture the water that is leaking and repair it as soon as possible.
17) You can use washing machine to wash clothes that does not consume much water.
18) Do not leave the tap running while washing the dishes in the kitchen. Install small shower
